Run CSIR-NET mocks that grade Parts A, B and C the way the real paper does

For CSIR-NET coaching institutes and test-series sellers. CSIR-NET only evaluates a fixed number of answers in each Part, which most quiz plugins can’t do. Turgor Exam Engine has an “evaluate first N answered” setting built for exactly this.

The CSIR-NET pattern

PartQuestionsEvaluatedMarks eachPenaltyMax marks
A (general aptitude)20first 15 answered20.530
B50first 35 answered20.570
C75first 25 answered41100

Pattern shown for Life Sciences. The paper lasts 3 hours.

Set up a CSIR-NET mock in Turgor Exam Engine

The exam engine on this page (sections, negative marking per section, "evaluate first N", fullscreen lockdown and the CBT palette), bulk question import and the student dashboard are part of Turgor Exam Engine Pro. The free Turgor Exam Engine plugin covers courses, lessons and quizzes.

  1. Create one exam with three topics: Part A, Part B and Part C.
  2. Turn on “evaluate first N answered” for each topic: 15, 35 and 25.
  3. Set points per question (2, 2 and 4) and negative marking per topic (0.5, 0.5 and 1).
  4. Set the duration to 180 minutes and turn on fullscreen lockdown.
  5. Load the question bank from Excel, Word, JSON or a live Google Sheet. Give each question its section in the Category column and its marks in the Points column; LaTeX in questions and options renders through MathJax.

What your students get

  • A CBT-style question palette: answered, not answered, not visited, marked for review, and answered & marked, with Save & Next and Mark for Review controls.
  • A server-side timer that keeps running if the page is closed and submits the paper automatically at zero.
  • Fullscreen lockdown: leaving fullscreen is logged, and the exam submits itself after three exits.
  • An instant result with score, class average, percentile and per-question explanations, plus a score trend across retakes.
  • A student dashboard with per-course scores, percentiles, streaks and an automatic “lessons to revisit” list.

Common questions

What happens if a student answers more than 15 questions in Part A?

Only the first 15 answered are evaluated; extra answers don’t add marks or penalties, as in the real paper.

Can I tag questions by syllabus unit?

Yes. Tag each question by unit and sub-topic when you import, and the result screen breaks the score down by topic.
