After migrating from LearnDash
See your courses on the site, swap LearnDash's shortcodes, and turn LearnDash off.
Watch the how-to: Move from LearnDash to Turgor Exam Engine without losing anything
Once the import finishes, your courses, lessons, quizzes and students’ progress are live in Turgor Exam Engine, each course on its own page. The Migration screen (shown while LearnDash is active) now takes you through seeing the result, putting courses on your pages, and turning LearnDash off.
See it on your site
Under Content copied, the See it on your site panel has three buttons:
- View all courses – your course list, as visitors see it.
- Open “<course>” – one of your imported courses, the way a student sees it.
- Compare with LearnDash – opens the checks that compare every course, lesson, quiz and student’s progress with LearnDash’s own data.
Swap LearnDash’s shortcodes
Once LearnDash is off, WordPress prints its shortcodes as plain text. Replace each one in your pages, or in a Shortcode block:
| LearnDash shortcode | Use instead |
|---|---|
[ld_course_list] |
[turgee_courses] |
[course_content] |
[turgee_course_content course_id="123"] |
[learndash_course_progress] |
[turgee_course_progress course_id="123"] |
[ld_quiz] |
[turgee_quiz id="123"] |
[ld_profile] |
[turgee_profile] |
[learndash_login] |
[turgee_login] |
[student]...[/student] |
[turgee_if_logged_in]...[/turgee_if_logged_in] |
[visitor]...[/visitor] |
[turgee_if_logged_out]...[/turgee_if_logged_out] |
The panel fills in a real course ID for you. The import’s checks list each page that still uses a LearnDash shortcode, so you know where to look. [turgee_quizzes] is new: a grid of your standalone mock tests.
Matching and rating-scale questions
Turgor Exam Engine 0.4.0 can mark LearnDash’s matching (“matrix sort”) and rating-scale (“assessment”) questions. If you migrated before 0.4.0, run the question import again (Migration → Advanced tools → Import questions) to bring their pairs and scores across. Until then those questions are left off the paper, and the quiz is marked out of the rest.
Re-importing copies LearnDash’s version over any edits you made to those questions here.
Turn LearnDash off
- Protect your edits – stops a later import from copying LearnDash over changes you made here.
- Turn off LearnDash – deactivates LearnDash and its add-ons. The screen first warns you if your theme or another plugin still calls LearnDash directly.
Deactivate LearnDash rather than deleting it: the comparison checks still read its data.
