The Results screen

Mark essays, give students their retakes back, and re-mark after fixing an answer key.

Watch the how-to: Mark essays, re-mark and analyse every question

Turgor Exam Engine → Results lists every quiz attempt on the site. From here you mark essays, give a student their retakes back, and re-mark attempts after correcting an answer key. Only administrators see it.

Find attempts

Filter by quiz, by student, and by status: Submitted, Waiting for marking or In progress. Each row shows the score, the percentage and the result, such as Passed · waiting for marking.

Mark essays

  1. Choose Waiting for marking in the status filter, or look for a Mark (1) button on a row; the number is how many essays are waiting.
  2. Click Mark. Each essay is shown exactly as the student wrote it, with a Marks box beside it, out of the question’s marks.
  3. Enter the marks and click Save marks. The attempt’s score updates straight away, and the message shows the new total.

You can change the marks later the same way.

Reset retakes

Reset retakes lets a student take a quiz again when they have used up its retake limit. Their finished attempts stop counting against the limit; their scores are kept and still appear here, marked retake reset.

Re-mark after correcting an answer

Fixed a wrong answer key? Click Re-mark on an attempt to mark it again against the current answers, or choose the quiz in the filter and use the button above the list to re-mark every attempt on it.

Essay marks you have already given are kept. Re-marking does not send students a second result email.

Not seeing a quiz’s attempts?

Only attempts made in Turgor Exam Engine, or imported from LearnDash, are listed. A quiz that will not open for students has no attempts; check its questions for cannot be marked on the Questions screen.
