Watch the how-to: Put your courses and exams in front of students
Requirements
- WordPress 6.7 or newer
- PHP 8.1 or newer
- LearnDash is not needed. It matters only if you are moving a LearnDash site across.
To check your versions, open Tools → Site Health → Info.
Install
- Go to Plugins → Add New and search for Turgor Exam Engine, or upload the plugin zip with Add New → Upload Plugin. You can also place the files in
/wp-content/plugins/turgor-exam-engine. - Click Activate on the Plugins screen.
- Open Turgor Exam Engine in the admin sidebar.
Then
- Starting fresh: set your sitewide defaults under Turgor Exam Engine → Quiz Settings, then build a quiz or a course.
- Moving from LearnDash: open Turgor Exam Engine → Migration, shown once LearnDash is active. See After migrating from LearnDash.
- Selling courses: install Turgor Exam Engine Pro too. See Getting started with Pro.
Privacy
Turgor Exam Engine makes no requests to outside servers. A lesson video plays from the address you entered, loaded by the student’s browser or app, not by the plugin. Links to the documentation and to Pro on turgorlabs.com are ordinary links that open only when you click them. The one bundled library is Chart.js (MIT licence), which draws the quiz-results chart.
Common questions
